Ammonia Refrigerated Distribution Center Built by C&L Refrigeration

C&L Refrigeration completed a fast track main processing distribution center that stores and processes the fresh produce and juice products for TESCO's Fresh and Easy grocery stores along with other clients. Approximately 116,000 sq ft, the building contains an ammonia pumped recirculated system with multiple 35°F processing rooms, forty four (44) evaporators with variable speed drives and flooded heat exchangers for a glycol and a water processing system. The project also included outdoor make-up air handlers for room pressurization for a high care area, and 1,350HP of compressors with variable speed drives. This fast track project was completed in approximately three months with the large construction crew and welding team working in hot summer temperatures well over 100°F outside as well as in the attic areas. The center is fully operational and was completed on time for Wild Rocket in the fall of 2007.
